The SMSTS Site Management 2 Day Refresher training is a crucial course for site managers to update their health and safety knowledge. Who Should Attend?

Construction site managers and senior site supervisors or anyone who currently holds a valid and in date Site Management Safety Training Scheme SMSTS certificate. The certificate has to be renewed every five years by attending this SMSTS Refresher course. Please note that expired certs and grace periods for expired certificate renewals are no longer able to join this course.

Joining Instructions

Course Information: 1. Receive a confirmation email, letting you know that your place is secured. Please only book this course if you have sufficient IT skills and a Laptop/PC/Mac with a working webcam and microphone. 2. 2 Days before the course or upon booking (if the course is less than 2 days away) you will receive the ZOOM link and further information regarding the course. Prior to the course, you will also receive access to your online e-book resources. 3. You will also receive an email asking you to complete an online form. This must be completed prior to the course. If you do not complete this form, you may not be allowed to complete the course. 4. You must be on time for your course, the course starts promptly at 08:30 AM. If you are late, you may not be allowed to complete the course. 5. Remember to bring your ID (passport or driving license) 6. Attend every day of the course and complete the exam at the end. (You must attend every day of the course to complete it.) 7. You will receive your certificates via email around 14 days after the course. Please take this into account before committing to employment start dates. Y

Course Agenda

Health and safety law, including the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act and Construction Design and Management Regulations. Policies, risk assessments, and method statements. Induction, training, communication, and leadership for effective worker engagement. Inspection, audit, and statutory forms, notices, and registers. Accident prevention, control, reporting, and investigation.

Management of health and welfare facilities, including stress and mental health at work, drugs and alcohol, and control of substances hazardous to health. Specific topics such as lead, asbestos, dust and fumes, noise, vibration, and manual handling.

Site organisation, including fire prevention and control, dangerous substances, electrical safety, temporary works, and plant and work equipment. Mobile plant and vehicles, lifting operations and equipment, and safety for mobile workforce and drivers.

Work at Height Regulations, covering safe working at height, common access equipment, scaffolding, fall arrest and suspension equipment, excavations, underground and overhead services, and confined spaces. Course duration 2 days..

Accreditation

Successful candidates of the SMSTS Site Management 2 Day Refresher training course will receive a ConstructionSkills Site Safety Plus certificate. This certificate is highly recognized in the construction industry and is a requirement for many job positions.

The SMSTS certificate is valid for five years, after which it must be renewed by attending the SMSTS Refresher course. The course includes a compulsory examination paper consisting of 25 questions selected by the CITB. A pass is achieved by scoring over 80 on the exam.
