The 2 day CITB SMSTS Refresher Training course is designed for candidates who have already passed the SMSTS Course. All SMSTS certificates issued after 1st January 2005 are valid for 5 years from the date of issue. Candidates will be required to show their original 5 day certificate and if known provide details of where and when they took the course. Delegates MUST attend both days in order to obtain their certification..By attending the SMSTS refresher course delegates will be updated on developments in construction...

Who Should Attend?Anyone who has attended the five day Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) Course, and whose certificate is due to expire. Expiry of the certificate is 5 years.

Health and safety law, including the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act and Construction Design and Management Regulations. Policies, risk assessments, and method statements. Induction, training, communication, and leadership for effective worker engagement. Inspection, audit, and statutory forms, notices, and registers. Accident prevention, control, reporting, and investigation. ##$$##Management of health and welfare facilities, including stress and mental health at work, drugs and alcohol, and control of substances hazardous to health. Specific topics such as lead, asbestos, dust and fumes, noise, vibration, and manual handling. ##$$##Site organisation, including fire prevention and control, dangerous substances, electrical safety, temporary works, and plant and work equipment. Mobile plant and vehicles, lifting operations and equipment, and safety for mobile workforce and drivers. ##$$##Work at Height Regulations, covering safe working at height, common access equipment, scaffolding, fall arrest and suspension equipment, excavations, underground and overhead services, and confined spaces. Accreditation

Successful candidates of the SMSTS Site Management 2 Day Refresher training course will receive a ConstructionSkills Site Safety Plus certificate. This certificate is highly recognized in the construction industry and is a requirement for many job positions.##$$##The SMSTS certificate is valid for five years, after which it must be renewed by attending the SMSTS Refresher course. The course includes a compulsory examination paper consisting of 25 questions selected by the CITB.
